These are bags we have posted on our Etsy Site http://www.c3design.etsy.com . They were made from the scraps of the Sustainable Quilting Bee fabric.
Below is an image from last years Sustainable Quilting Bee. It is a programn through the IIDA NY Chapter to re-purpose the mountains of textiles that get used as samples and then thrown away. We meet once a month and at the end of each year have an auction with the proceeds going to a related charity. The ’09 Auction had twelve quilts from various design and architecture firms, like Moudis, GKV and Perkins + Will.
Below are a few images of the quilt used by an event planner at a show in NYC. The quilt top was putr together by Cyndi’s Grandmother and we were asked to finish and quilt it. It was a stretch as these are not designs we’re used to working with, plus the age of the top. It was fun all the same and had a good response from those that saw it.
Below is a quilt from ’06. I was trying to come up with a design that had some Amish influences but also something haphazard. I like the way accidents happen. It is about 70″ x 70″ machine pieced and hand quilted.
