Yellow Goat Design | Google Chicago

YGD was recently asked to design a custom lobby sculpture for Google’s new offices in Chicago. The location was an old cold storage facility. We were tasked with designing a fixture that would honor the beauty of the facility before it was defrosted with a spectacular light fixture for the after. What a fun process and design concept! Our very happy client commented, “The fixture is beautiful and spot on as far as feel and design.” See the amazing before photos of the frozen space and then the YGD fixture hanging out in the final install photos!

Silver Spun with Gold

We love cool greys and silver, and they always work with warm amber gold. This month’s color story combines some of our favorite geometric patterns with two of our newest textured stripes. In Repeat is a large scale, bold, two-tone graphic, while Windows combines neutrals with color in a rhythmic pattern. Alhambra offers a classic linear motif. A softer approach to geometry can be found in Kimono’s ikat dot imagery. All these patterns work with the fine scale stripes of Kiri, woven with chenille yarns, and Obi Stripe’s metallic threads. These patterns are also harsh chemical/bleach cleanable safe and suited for the most demanding interiors. Melange, a trevira cs inherently flame retardant plain weave, creates the perfect solid complement and can be used in any vertical application such as drapery and wall covering. Whether you prefer silver or gold, all these fabrics meet the most demanding high performance requirements.
