Black and White: Take it Outside

Last month we looked at our black and white offerings for interior spaces. Why not take the same dramatic color combination outdoors? Inspired by the black and white landscapes I recently saw in the volcano region of Iceland, this month we again take a look at some of our favorite black and white patterns and mix them with complementary textures and polyurethanes. Our Sunbrella® and Sunbrella® Contract patterns have the highest sunfast qualities in the market and are cleanable with diluted bleach solutions. Poncho is a traditional stripe inspired by textiles south of the border, while Allover in Sunbrella Contract is a modern graphic with superior performance qualities, making it ideal for indoor application as well. Solar Canvas is a classic plain weave that is eminently durable and Terry Towel brings in comfy texture. Everywhere is our smooth surface polyurethane for indoor and outdoor use. So now you can complement the graphic black and white patterns for the interiors by adding these dramatic textiles to exterior spaces. Black and White: Always Perfect Together
What’s better than black and white, side by side? Inspired by the black and white landscapes I recently saw in the volcano region of Iceland, this month we take a look at some of our favorite black and white patterns and mix them with complementary textures and polyurethanes. Our high performance graphic patterns Facade and Happiness are bleach cleanable. Points of Light and Mehndi Cryptons resist soiling and are easily cleaned and equally durable. Eureka and Groove are polyurethanes that provide a sleek contrast, easy of cleaning and high performance features. Play up the combination of black and white by adding classic textures: Woodland is a mohair velvet with luxurious hand while its complement Prairie provides a fine scale level loop weave.

Celebrate Summer with Our Nordic Collection’s Swedish Reds
Midsummer Day, celebrated this year on June 20, is Sweden’s beloved national holiday. It marks the beginning of summer and virtually every Swede heads for the country for their vacation. Tradition dictates the gathering of flowers for garlands and the raising of a maypole for favorite songs and folk dances. The heart of of Sweden’s folk culture is Dalarna province, where small red summer houses, painted Falun red, dot the countryside. My grandfather built his own tiny summer cabin when he emigrated from Dalarna to a small town north of Seattle, painting it traditional Swedish Falun red.
This month’s Swedish Reds Color Story includes our newest patterns inspired by Scandinavian textiles’ patterns and colors. Folklore is a large scale geometric pattern while Cozy is a softly textured solid in complementary colors. Both fabrics are safely cleaned with harsh chemicals or bleach solution, making them ideal for interiors demanding high performance products. Turkish Delight is a PVC-free polyurethane with a smooth, soft hand. Our very affordable Trevira CS upholstery fabrics Hue, Duo and Melange look like classic Scandinavian wools. Inherently flame retardant, they are also recommended for vertical application such as drapery and wall covering. Available in the brightest hues or rich heathered tones, these fabrics will bring your favorite color to any interior space.

Sina Pearson | Trevira CS Classics

Our Trevira cs Classics, Inherently Flame Resistant with Style

We (and our clients!) look to our Trevira cs collection for the best in classic weaves and colors. From Destinations‘ chenille dimensional weave to Shadow‘s perfect basket weave in neutral tones to HueDuo and Melange‘s vibrant range of colors in fine scale plain weaves, we have a Trevira cs for any interior space. Why Trevira cs? This high performance polyester is inherently flame retardant, allowing for easy application for upholstery, wall covering and drapery. The fabric passes the most stringent fire codes, including IMO, with no additional treatment needed. Trevira cs fabrics are also washable, making them an ideal choice for slipcovered furniture, pillows or cushions. And the fiber also takes on a wool-like appearance in Melange, Hue and Duo, looks similar to linen in Shadow, and resembles cotton chenille in Destinations and Destinations 2.0. So whenever you need a classic weave in a neutral or brilliant color, look to our stylish solids and textures made with Trevira cs yarns.

Weather Forecast: Wintery Greys With a Touch of Spring Green

Once again winter seems to linger on, but the days are growing longer and for many of us, spring is just around the corner. So for this month’s Color Story, let’s combine winter’s silvery greys with the fresh new-growth-greens of spring. Here we offer geometric patterns in both mid-scale Tracks and larger-scale Crossing Lines. Stripes are always usable in either Obi Stripe‘s metallic smooth surface or the luxurious two-tone chenille weave of KiriGroove is our popular polyurethane with a subtle metallic texture that seems to complement any textile. And if you have a touch of spring fever, consider the allover mid-scale floral pattern,Happiness. All of these patterns are durable, harsh chemical safe and cleanable with diluted bleach, making them the ideal solution for any indoor space requiring high performance textiles.
